Brief Biography:

Mark Essay has been a high school educator for the past thirteen years. He was born, raised, educated and currently teaches in Portage la Prairie. He currently teacher high school English at Portage Collegiate Institute. Mark has also traveled the globe and worked with educators and corporate trainers in a variety of arenas from K-12 classrooms, to youth corrections facilities and all the way to NASA. Most recently he was the keynote speaker at the International Alliance for Learning Conference in Washington D.C. and more locally presented his education session at the Widening Circles International Literacy Conference in Winnipeg. He also presented at the provincial and national 4H Leadership Conferences in 2007. Mark continues to love teaching in the classroom and feels that’s where the most important credibility comes from when sharing ideas with other educators.
